Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to purchases made from Kanto Corner New Plymouth Limited, including purchases made in-store and through our website.

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights or remedies available under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986, or any other applicable law.

Change-of-mind returns

Please choose carefully, as we do not offer refunds, returns or exchanges if you change your mind, your circumstances change, or you find the item cheaper elsewhere.

Any voluntary exchange offered by us, including an exchange using a Gift Exchange Card, is subject to our approval and any conditions stated on that card.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

Please inspect your order when you receive it. If an item is faulty, damaged, not as described, or you receive the wrong item, contact us as soon as reasonably possible at np@kantocorner.nz. If possible, please include your order number, proof of purchase, photographs and a description of the issue.

Where the Consumer Guarantees Act applies, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or another remedy. The remedy available will depend on the nature and seriousness of the problem. A claim is not automatically excluded because more than 30 days have passed or because you no longer have the original packaging.

We may ask you to return the item so we can assess it. Please contact us before sending anything back. If a return is accepted, we will provide return instructions and, where required by law, arrange or reimburse reasonable return costs. Items returned without prior approval may not be accepted unless the law requires otherwise.

We are not required to provide a remedy where, for example, the customer caused the damage, used the item contrary to instructions, or simply changed their mind.

Non-returnable items

Unless required by law, we do not accept change-of-mind returns for:

• opened or unsealed trading card game products, including booster packs;

• sale or clearance items;

• gift cards;

• personalised, custom-made or special-order products;

• perishable goods;

• personal-care goods; or

• hazardous materials, flammable liquids or gases.

These exclusions do not remove any rights you may have if an item is faulty, unsafe, damaged, incorrectly supplied or does not match its description.

Because the contents of sealed trading card products are random, dissatisfaction with the cards or rarity pulled from a correctly supplied and untampered product is not considered a product fault.

Events

Event registrations are generally non-refundable if you change your mind or are unable to attend. If we agree to a cancellation requested by you, any refund may be issued as store credit at our discretion.

If Kanto Corner New Plymouth Limited cancels an event, you will be entitled to a full refund of the ticket price and any applicable booking fee, or you may choose store credit instead. If an event is postponed or materially changed, any refund rights will be handled in accordance with the event terms and applicable New Zealand law.

Pre-orders

Please choose carefully before placing a pre-order. Pre-orders are generally final and cannot be cancelled or refunded because you change your mind.

Pre-order cancellation administration fee: If we agree, at our discretion, to cancel a pre-order because you have changed your mind, ordered the wrong item, found the item elsewhere, or can no longer complete the purchase, a 5% administration fee will be deducted from the amount refunded. This fee contributes to the reasonable administration, payment-processing and cancellation costs incurred in handling the pre-order. The balance will be refunded to the original payment method unless we agree otherwise.

The 5% administration fee will not apply where Kanto Corner New Plymouth Limited cannot supply the item, where the item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described, or where a full refund is otherwise required by New Zealand law. We will not apply the fee to the extent that it would be unlawful or amount to an unenforceable penalty.

If we cannot supply a pre-ordered item, we will offer a refund. Delays or changes to a supplier's estimated release date do not automatically mean we are unable to supply the item. If a supplied pre-order is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or does not match its description, your rights under New Zealand law continue to apply.

Subscriptions

When you purchase a subscription, you authorise repeat deliveries and recurring payments based on the duration and frequency selected at checkout. Unless a different date is stated when you subscribe, recurring payments are processed on the first day of each month for that month's delivery. Payment details are handled securely by our payment provider.

You may cancel or change your subscription before the next payment is processed by using the subscription-management link in your order confirmation email or by contacting np@kantocorner.nz. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals but does not automatically refund an order or payment already processed, except where required by law.

Approved refunds

We will notify you after we receive and inspect a returned item and advise whether the refund has been approved. Approved refunds will normally be made to the original payment method unless we agree otherwise or the law requires another approach.

Processing times vary between banks and payment providers. After we issue the refund, it may take additional time to appear in your account.
